Abstract
Статтю присвячено дослідженню семантичних та оцінних трансформацій релігійної лексики, що відбулися під впливом змін у житті українського суспільства наприкінці XX — на початку XXI ст. Дослідження здійснено на основі порівняльного аналізу тлумачень слів у лексикографічних працях радянського і пострадянського періодів. З’ясовано, що релігійна лексика актуалізується і звільняється від ідеологічних конотацій. Виявлено різні ступені деідеологізації лексичних одиниць.

At the end of the 20th — in the early 21st century significant changes occurred in the life of the Ukrainian society. They were accompanied by the transformation of mass consciousness, destruction of stable stereotypes formed in the Soviet period, and reassessment of all the previous history. These changes invoked both qualitative and quantitative changes in the vocabulary of modern Ukrainian language that have been reflected in the semantic transformation of nominations, and the expansion and enrichment of various the162
matic lexical groups, religious vocabulary in particular. The main trend in the modern lexicographical interpretation of nominative units is the deideologization of their semantics, i. e. the process of the modification of the ideologically tinged connotation of lexemes for ideologically neutral.
The goal of this study is to examine the semantic and axiological transformations of religious vocabulary that occurred under the influence of extralinguistic factors during the 20th — early 21st centuries based on the comparative analysis of the interpretations of words in the lexicographical works of the Soviet and Post-Soviet periods. The relevance of the problem of the reflection of the processes of semantic transformation of the lexical units of the sphere of religion in the modern lexicographical works that are related to their actualization and negation of ideological connotations has led to the choice of the subject of investigation. The comparative analysis has revealed complications of the semantic structure of the nominative units of religious themes. They lose the negative-evaluative status, become neutral, and even demonstrate the development of positive-evaluative coloring. In the modern dictionaries the ideological markers and notes, indicating the obsolescence of relevant lexemes, are eliminated and the meanings of words are liberated from the ideological semantic impurities.
Different degrees of the deideologization of lexical units are revealed. Complete deideologization of the lexicographical interpretation of lexemes testifies the rethinking of the phenomena of spiritual life, semantic reorientation and exemption from the evaluative component of the meaning. Incomplete or partial deideologization of lexemes indicates the inadequacy of dictionary interpretations to the modern perception of certain concepts. It shows the preservation of the signs of connection with Communist ideology such as markers of negative evaluation.
