Abstract
У статті на матеріалі діалектних текстів говірки села Машеве Чорнобильського району Київської області розглянуто проблему перехідних говірок, відзначено особливість чорнобильських говірок, у яких поєднуються риси української та білоруської мов, підкреслено цінність діалектних текстів при дослідженні питань ідентичності, зокрема наведено приклади, які свідчать про національну та мовну свідомість діалектоносіїв, про ставлення поліщуків до своєї мови та ставлення носіїв інших діалектів та літературної мови до поліської говірки.

The problem of transitional local dialects is analysed in the article on the material of dialectal texts from Masheve village, Chornobyl area, Kyiv region. The boundaries of neighbouring languages are conditional. The Polissian dialect belongs to different languages. Chornobyl local dialects combine features of Ukrainian and Belarusian languages. Yuri Shevelov pointed out the criteria that can provide Ukrainian language as a unity. P. Buzuk believes that referring transitional local dialects to one or another language is a cultural and political matter, a matter of their speakers. Dialectal texts are reliable and valuable resource in the study of identity and linguistic self-awareness. The examples cited in the article indicate national identity of dialect speakers and reveal Polishchuks’ attitude to Ukraine, their own local dialect, Ukrainian literary language, Russian and Belarusian languages. Ukrainian literary language has a higher status in regard to local dialects. Polishchuks demonstrate different linguistic behavior in different communicative situations and depending on where they are — in the native village, outside the village and outside Ukraine. One of the reasons that contributed to the identity of Polishchuks is the independence of Ukraine. Polischuks use the word Ukraine both as the name of the state and as a regional name, including the Middle Dnieper region.
