dc.descriptionThis article deals with the issue of national security and the policy of securitization as a model of ideology in contemporary liberal democracies. The policy of securitization is being considered as a process of social construction and, due to its discursive nature, as the one that recurs to the functions traditionally attributed by social sciences to political ideologies. Today, securitization remains one of the leading social techniques to protect the political capacities of contemporary liberal democracies to solve security problems in the frames of human rationality. The Securitization Theory considers the very concept of security in a much broader sense extending the field of its analysis to various sectors of human society and not limiting itself to a military aspect of security. Thus, securitization produces a certain culture of security, socially constructed in an intersubjective discursive manner and oriented towards a restoration of a rational and pragmatic process of correcting distortions in social communications, which, as a consequence, produce the issue of security. Dealing with the defined threats to a referent object, a securitizing subject has to mobilize the whole range of suitable resources to raise trust in the audience to the undertaken measures. The process of securitization requires legitimization of extraordinary measures. This is exactly the point at which securitization acquires characteristics of ideology in its cognitive, sociological, cultural, discursive, and psychological aspects. Thus, the problem of national security, especially in the approach proposed by the Copenhagen School, becomes a matter of social construction and a subject to ideological interpretation of social reality.en
dc.description.abstractУ статті досліджено поняття національної безпеки та політики сек’юритизації як моделі ідеології у сучасних ліберально-демократичних суспільствах. Політика сек’юритизації розглядається як інтер-суб’єктивний процес соціального конструювання і як така, що виконує властиві політичним ідеологіям функції. Вивчення дискурсивної природи основних механізмів сек’юритизації дає змогу розглядати сучасні моделі політики національної безпеки як приклади операціоналізації політичних ідеологій.uk
