Abstract
The article is dedicated to the history of innovation theory of economic development and shows it's important role to elaborating of contemporary economic policy in Ukraine. According to this theory the growth of national wealth depends on the effective supporting of the innovation process in the country, which guarantees permanent structural reform of the national economy on a new technological basis. The central point of this policy connects to the creation of legal stimulus and institutional conditions that will promote innovation entrepreneurships.
