Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discuss the negative effects of unipolar ity both for the United States and the rest of the world. The main thesis here is as follows: the unipolar political system with the U.S. in a dominant role can no longer be preferable nor profitable for the interests of either the U.S. or the rest of the International Community. Internationally, the biggest challenge to the dominant role of the U.S. is a steady deterioration of the positive image of the country as a traditional democracy, and growing resentment toward U.S. led economic, political and cultural expansion in societies dominated by extremist religions and ideologies.
