Abstract
Стаття присвячена питанням антропологічного складу та етнічної історії населення
черняхівської культури. Ha підставі антрополого-одонтологічних даних виділено три регіональних
комплекси, що склались на різній етнічній основі.
The paper is devoted to odontological composition and ethnic history of population of Chernyakhiv culture. Results of the studies in nine craniological series, most of which were analyzed by the author, have been generalized. Three regional sets (Dnieper, Left Bank and Danube-Dniester) were identified from the analysis of variations of basic race diagnostic attributes of the teeth structure in the Chernyakhiv populations. The Dnieper set is characterized by the features inherent in the Middle European odonthological type. Results of the intergroup analysis have confirmed that it is based on the local Scythian fundamentals imbibing also another more massive morphological component. The left bank set embraces the features of representatives of the western branch of the Southern gracial type. It is based on the Scythian and Sarmatian Morphological components. The Danube-Dnister set has nothing in common with the already studies groups of ancient population of South-Western Europe. It was probably formed on the Fracian basis. According to the results of the intergroup analysis the Slavs were a part of the conglomerate of tribes, creators of the Chernyakhiv culture. As to the role of Gothic (East German) morphological component, it exerted no essential effect of formation of anthropological composition of Chernyakhiv population.
