Abstract
This article presents analysis of some basic principles on which the system of education in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy was based. Also author proves actuality of the high educational institution's experience from the outlook on tasks that now Ukrainian system of the higher education decides. From this point of view special meaning sets confirmation of independent and freedom's spirit. Considering this problem, attention is stressed on introduction into life by Academy's professors the principle of systematic education that is based on creative comprehension of the first sources, on forming intellectuals with intention to communicate in whole Europe context. Conscious direction of educational system not to accumulation of knowledge, but mainly to man's self-realization, — creates the main conclusion that resumes educational concept, based in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
