During the nine years of the war, the number of female soldiers in the ranks of the United Armed Forces (UAF) has almost doubled and now exceeds the number of women in some of the largest armies in Europe, such as Great Britain, Italy, and, according to recent data, France. Public awareness of the issue of the rights and opportunities of women in military service and female veterans in Ukraine has also increased. Military women have also become more visible and recognized. The Commanderin-Chief of the UAF4 and the President of Ukraine publicly recognize the contribution of Ukrainian women, servicewomen in particular, to the country’s defense, and the National Day of Defenders of Ukraine has been officially renamed the "Day of Defenders and Defendresses of Ukraine".
