dc.descriptionThe article considers the origin of Ukrainian lexicographic traditions in compiling the dictionaries of foreign words. The material for the research was excerpted from the dictionaries published in Ukraine in 1895-1924. Special attention is focused on such problems, as the selection of units for dictionary registers, the use of orthography standards in adapting the borrowed lexemes, the choice of dictionary and entry structures, etc. The research allows to reveal the peculiarities of lexicography development in the area considered and define the weaknesses and the strengths of the given type of dictionaries.en
dc.description.abstractУ статті простежено зародження українських лексикографічних традицій в укладанні словників іншомовних слів. Матеріалом дослідження стали словники, видані протягом 1895— 1924 pp. в Україні. Увагу зосереджено на проблемах добору реєстрових одиниць, використання правописних норм в адаптації запозичених лексем, структури словника та словникової статті тощо. Проведене дослідження дає змогу з'ясувати особливості еволюції лексикографічних праць даного типу й окреслити їхні вади та перевагиuk
