Abstract
У статті висвітлюються питання про шляхи формування середньовічних міст, зокрема на землях
сучасної України. На прикладі кількох пам'яток XI—XII ст., що були виявлені на Дніпровському Лівобережжі,
показано тупиковий шлях в еволюції тих протоміст, які були орієнтовані лише на обслуговування
міжнародної торгівлі і не мали тісних контактів із сільським оточенням.
Description
The question about the ways of forming of the medieval cities, especially on the lands of the modern Ukraine,
has been raised in the article. On the example of some monuments of the XI-XIII centuries, which were discovered
in the Dnieper's Left Bank region, the deadlock way in the evolution of those protocities, which had been oriented
only on the serving the international trade and had not the close contacts with the village neighborhood, has been
shown in the article.
