Abstract
There were considered the development of research and knowledge’s dissemination on the history of Ukraine in Lviv University through the period between the first and second world wars; the author have shown that due to limitations imposed by the Polish authorities, Ukrainian science and education were forced to find ways to adapt to new conditions, resulting in the formation and activities of Secret Ukrainian University; it allowed continue training historians despite the government’s prohibitions; Ukrainian
historical perspective found some reflection in courses and research some Polish professors and professional training of scientific Ukrainian personnel.
