dc.description.abstract | Obesity is a common, serious, and costly disease. The main causes of the world obesity epidemic are well known: excessive fat and sugar intake, too much screen time, lack of sleep, insufficient physical activity. However, Diet intake has been a major factor in determining the obesity epidemic. We need world measures across all age groups to address these elements and we need them now. Consuming a healthy diet throughout the life-course helps to prevent malnutrition in all its forms as well as a range of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and conditions. | |
