Abstract
Статтю присвячено дослідженню поняття "постфемінізм" у сучасному філософському та
культурологічному дискурсі. Увагу зосереджено на необхідності прирощення теоретичного інструментарію в термінах фемінізму та гендерної теорії у зв’язку з потребою чіткої дефініції
термінів "постфемінізм", "постмодерністський фемінізм" та "фемінізм третьої хвилі". Цей
термін дає змогу конституювати проблему взаємозв’язку між різними відгалуженнями феміністичної теорії. У теоретичному зрізі дослідження проблеми проведено на аналізі статей, що
з’являлися у 1980–1990 рр. в англомовній пресі. Проаналізовано різні трактування терміна "постфемінізм": як спроба виходу за межі фемінізму, "зворотний зв’язок" та як позначення періоду,
пов’язаного з постмодерністським фемінізмом, що не має чітко визначеної мети та розмиває
проблему бінарної опозиції чоловік/жінка.
The article explores the concept of “postfeminism” in the contemporary philosophical discourse. The research is relevant due to the need to augment theoretical tools in terms of psychoanalysis and gender as well as establish clear definitions of such terms as postfeminism, postmodern feminism, and feminism of the third wave. The concept of postfeminism allows to conceive the problem of the relationship between different branches of the feminist theory. The use of the term postfeminism is problematic because of two reasons. Firstly, different media speculate and use this term, and secondly, postfeminism as a movement develops unevenly, hence resulting in chronological and geographical differences. In the theoretical aspect, the problem was studied in the articles that appeared in the 80s–90s of the 20th century in the English-language press. The concept of postfeminism is an attempt to go beyond the boundaries of feminism as a “feedback” and at the same time postfeminism related to postmodern feminism, which does not have a clear-cut goal and blurs the problem of the binary opposition of a man / woman. Postfeminism can also be a phenomenonchallenge as well as a phenomenon-reaction to the concept of changing gender identity. The speculation of various media, which was aimed at undermining the authority of the feminist movement with the political intention of extracting the feminist movement from social discourse, led to the confusing interpretation of the term. Postmodern feminism replaces the issue of equality with the issue of difference, which causes a split in the feminist community and the emergence of postfeminist manifestations and the proclamation of the third wave of feminism. Postfeminism can also be a phenomenon-challenge, as well as a phenomenonreaction to the concept of changing gender identity. In the theoretical aspect, the appearance of this term is associated with studies of Susan Bolotin, Camille Paglia, Ann Brooks, and Robert Redmond.
