Abstract
Дослідницький доробок Київської духовної академії (1819–1924) презентує основоположні, важливі кроки у вивченні історії Києво-Могилянської академії. У працях професорів КДА вперше артикульовано важливість цілісного та систематичного аналізу спадщини КМА з метою неупередженої оцінки її освітянського та наукового потенціалу. Можна стверджувати, що всебічний виклад історії КМА став одним із пріоритетних напрямів у наукових студіях викладачів і вихованців КДА впродовж другої половини ХІХ – на початку ХХ ст.

In this paper the priority areas of research of the historical heritage of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in the pre-revolutionary Kyiv Theological Academy are reproduced. It is proved that the academic investigation represents the beginning of the scientific history of this institution in Ukraine. The author revealed the understanding of Kyiv’s academic historians about the place of theology in the educational life of KMA and the importance of the “Mohyla” period in the formation of domestic theology. A certain problematic area in the research of Kyiv scientists has been clarified, which consists in the difficulty of combining the image of the KMA as a place of foundation of an independent tradition of national theology, with the image of this institution built according to Western models. Three factors of the interpretive field surrounding this problem were analyzed: the European context of historical and theological studies in the Academy, the influence of the Russian ideology, and the institutional factor. The author singles out two positions in assessing the authenticity of the formation of theology in the KMA – pro-Russian and pro-European.
