In the article the principles approaches of the determination of the depressive regions of the European
countries according to the different criterions have been analyzed. The original methodology of the
determination of the depressive regions on the base of the mathematical methods and the foreign
experience was elaborated. According to this methodology the clasterization of the depressive regions
have been made with objective of the amelioration their social and economic development.
