Examination of heavy metal content was carried out on control plots in biosphere sanctuary "Askania-Nova" in soil depth 0—10 sm, and 90—100 sm that had nearer contact with parent rock. Results of investigation represent that plant cover haven't significantly affected on total heavy metal content. There wasn't deference between various plots of virgin land of Velikiy Chapelskiy Slid. Examination of total heavy metal content is the main part of environment monitoring.
