The author discusses peculiarities of the functioning of the youth slang as contitioned by global mass alineation from national culture by dehumanization of society. Using new factual evidence, the author concludes that not only slang lexicon, but also is social and age bases, usage areal has been growing. The slang is gradually turning into the vernacular of people belonging to mass culture, thus neutralizing the inculturational function of language.
