Globally, there is an estimation of 3.3 billion people living in areas where
malaria, Tuberculosis, and other respiratory disease are transmitted. The Malaria
endemic is said to cover 107 countries and subtropical regions, with sub-Saharan
Africa having the hardest hit with an estimated 350 to 500 million clinical cases
annually, leading to about 1 million deaths every year. Malaria and Tuberculosis are
one of the highest causes of mortality in Nigeria. The study investigated the
effectiveness of government interventions for ending the endemics of malaria and
Tuberculosis in the village of Makoko, Lagos State, Nigeria.
