Abstract
The norms of the «prosta mova» [plain language] were based on its common usage. Using a corpus of authentic texts, the author defines common integrating features that allow for identifying their literary language as Ukrainian-Belarusian, and their distinctive features indicative of the impact of Ukrainian colloquial elements on the unwritten usage.
