| dc.description | The article discusses the role of I. I. Mechnikov in studying aging at the stage of formation and initial development of gerontology in the late XIX – early XX centuries. The views of I. I. Mechnikov as one of the most active experimenters and theorists of phylogenetic trends in biology and gerontology in particular its contribution to the development of studies of aging and longevity mechanisms. The interrelation of the ideas of I. I. Mechnikov and A. A. Bogomolts about age changes of an organism at the cellular and systemic levels is considered. An assessment of the concept of I. I. Mechnikov about the principal possibility of extension of human lifespan is given. The importance of the ideas of I. I. Mechnikov in the formation of the modern theories of aging was shown. | en |
| dc.description.abstract | В статье рассмотрена роль И. И. Мечникова в изучении проблемы старения на этапе становления и начального развития геронтологии в конце XIX – начале XX вв. Проанализированы взгляды И. И. Мечникова как одного из наиболее активных экспериментаторов и теоретиков филогенетического направления в биологии и в геронтологии в частности, его вклад в развитие исследований механизмов старения и продолжительности жизни. Рассмотрена взаимосвязь идей И. И. Мечникова и А. А. Богомольца о возрастных изменениях организма на клеточном и системном уровнях. Дана оценка концепции И. И. Мечникова о принципиальной возможности продления жизни человека. Показано значение идей И. И. Мечникова в формировании современных теорий старения. | ru |
