Abstract
The reform in school education and the transition to the new (culture-oriented) paradigm in this field require substantial changes in the content of political education of school children. The author suggests that to achieve the latter objective, the pupils should be taught not the increasing number of special terms or special disciplined but should rather be introduced into the cultural values of a democratic society and acquire some essential skills and experience of participation in the social and political life of their country.
