The relevance of the research. Today, Ukrainian museums, being in difficult war conditions, face numerous problems that affect their activities and ability to perform their main functions. Museums, which preserve and popularize key elements of national heritage, play an important role in creating a continuum for reflection and open dialogue. They become places that encourage rethinking of the past, the formulation of public discourses on difficult cultural and social challenges, spaces for the institutional preservation of collective memory. Through their exhibitions and educational programs, museums not only preserve historical and cultural artefacts but also actively contribute to the formation of national identity and awareness of the continuity of generations. The purpose of the article is to identify the essence of museums as a space of social consolidation and a means of forming and affirming national identity in Ukraine in war conditions. Conclusions. Modern museum trends and policies are effective factors in the formation of national identities, creating a space for the interaction of culture, history, and modern social processes. They reflect a desire to transform museums from passive repositories of artefacts into active spaces for learning, dialogue, and social change. Such an approach makes them an important player in modern social and cultural life, able to respond to the challenges of the time and integrate the latest technologies and approaches to interacting with the audience. The consolidation of society, especially in conditions of social and political transformations, requires the unity of its representatives on the basis of common meanings and ideals. Museums have the opportunity to unite people from different social groups by creating a space for a unifying awareness of historical events, values and culture as a whole, reflecting the diversity of socio-cultural identities within one nation, which contributes to the formation of social integration, understanding and reducing tension between different segments of society. en_US
