dc.description.abstractThis study investigates how empathy functions as a distinguishing feature between human-written and AI-generated texts, focusing on the use of elliptical sentences in fiction. Through a comparative analysis of literary texts, the research examines whether AI can replicate human-like emotional expression using this stylistic device. Our findings show that while humans use ellipsis effectively to evoke empathy, AI-generated texts still require iterative refinement to achieve similar results. The study acknowledges the potential for AI to mimic empathic language through the linguistic encoding of emotion, contributing to the understanding of human-machine communication. en_US
