dc.descriptionThe main milestones of vital way of Stepana Anan'yn's, one of representatives of Kiev academic tradition XIX — began XX centuries, who lectured pedagogic and pedagogical disciplines in 1909-1925 in the Saint Vladimir University and other higher educational establishments of Kiev are traced in the article. S. Anan'yn's subject of scientific publications and professional activity are defined. On this basis his aspiration to perfection of native educational culture through attaching to the best patterns of western philosophical-educational thought and high standards of scientific researches in area of education came to light. The results of analysis of content and composition of prerevolution works of thinker ground to assert that his scientific interest was attracted by the problem of functioning of philosophical knowledge in education sciences, transformation of psychological and ethics categories in the theories of education and teaching. It is drawn conclusion, that actually the thinker approached the awareness of necessity of transition of educational science to a new stage of institutionalization — philosophy of education.en_US
