Формальні параметри сучасного українського вокатива: процеси уніфікації іменникової парадигми

dc.descriptionBackground: It is now well established from a variety of studies, that foremost, influence of post-colonial status manifests on lexical level of a language, causing semantic and pragmatic shifts in word, idioms and phrases and spreading the words, idioms and phrases adopted from metropolitan language. This paper offers some insights into interaction between social-political circumstances of a language and its grammatical system. Purpose: This study was undertaken to evaluate the influence of the Ukraine’s colonial status on the evolution grammatical system of the of Ukrainian language. In particular, the main goal is to descry how grammatical accommodation of adopted name forms determines shifts in noun declension models. Methods: The first step in this process was to collect widespread today name forms ending with -ша(-sha) that are not constitutional for Ukrainian language. These forms were adopted from Russian that was metropolitan language during over three hundred centuries. Then, the vocative case’s inflexions of these name forms that are used by today speakers and ones that are established by the rules of declension were compared using the General Regionally Annotated Corpus of Ukrainian (GRAC). Results: The most remarkable point from the data is that in today speech practice, name forms ending with -ша(-sha) that belong to the mixed stems (mixed nominal type) of noun declension and should have inflexion -e in vocative in practice are used with inflexion -o. This inflexion is inherent to nouns of hard stems (hard nominal type). That’s why these results indicate that the paradigm of mixed nominal type is changing now and becoming closer to the paradigm of mixed hard type. In other words, the unification of paradigm of the feminine nouns ending in a vowel (-a) is continuing. Discussion: The present results appear to be an additional evidence that a language is social phenomena as far as political-historical status of a nation can influence on the development of grammatical system of its native language.en_US
dc.description.abstractУ статті порушено проблему впливу соціально-політичних умов розвитку мови на її граматичну систему, на прикладі формальних виявів кличного відмінка оцінено деякі наслідки колоніального статусу України, позначені на граматичній системі української мови. Показано, як граматична адаптація засвоєних з мови колишньої метрополії неофіційних форм імен з суфіксами -ш-, -уш- активізувала уніфікаційні процеси відмінкової парадигми іменника, зокрема, вирівнювання вокативних флексій іменників І відміни мішаної групи до флексій твердої групи.uk_UA
