dc.descriptionThis article explores the structural and semantic characteristics of transport business terminology found in English-language sources, as well as the primary approaches to its translation into Ukrainian. The research attempts to classify the terminological units of the transport sector into semantic categories, including terms related to types of transport and transportation, infrastructure, documentation and customs procedures, services and operations, financial and economic activities, types of cargo, technical specifications, business entities, and legal aspects of international trade. The relevance of this study stems from the growing globalization of transport processes, the expansion of international freight operations, and the need to standardize terminology to ensure effective professional communication among transport market participants from different countries. Translating transport terminology poses a number of challenges, such as polysemy, cross-linguistic differences, the lack of precise equivalents in the target language, and the need for contextual adaptation to Ukrainian usage. Consequently, the issue of translation strategies becomes crucial for experts in linguistics, translation studies, and the transport industry. To accomplish the objectives of the study, 29 regulatory documents from the EU acquis and the World Trade Organization were analyzed, including international agreements, conventions, EU directives, regulations, and trade-related documents in the field of transport. The analysis of these materials made it possible to identify major models of term formation within the transport business domain, determine the structural types of terms (simple, compound, and multi-word), and outline the main tendencies in their translation into Ukrainian. The findings indicate that the terminology of the transport business represents an open and dynamic linguistic system that continuously evolves under the influence of technological advancement, digitalization of transport operations, adoption of international standards, and the progress of logistics technologies. Translating such terminology requires not only linguistic competence but also a deep understanding of the professional field, international regulations, and the contextual nuances of term usage.en_US
dc.description.abstractУ статті висвітлено дослідження структурно-семантичних особливостей термінології транспортного бізнесу в англомовних джерелах та основні способи її перекладу українською мовою. Здійснено спробу систематизації термінологічних одиниць транспортної сфери за семантичними групами: терміни видів транспорту і перевезень, інфраструктури, документообігу та митного оформлення, послуг і процесів, фінансово-економічної діяльності, вантажів, технічних характеристик, суб’єктів бізнесу та правових аспектів міжнародної торгівлі. Актуальність дослідження зумовлена глобалізацією транспортних процесів, зростанням міжнародних перевезень і необхідністю уніфікації термінології задля ефективної професійної комунікації між учасниками транспортного ринку різних країн. Під час перекладу транспортної термінології виникають труднощі, пов’язані з багатозначністю, міжмовними розбіжностями, відсутністю точних еквівалентів у мові перекладу та необхідністю адаптації термінів до українського контексту. Це робить питання способів перекладу особливо важливим для фахівців з лінгвістики, перекладознавства та транспортної галузі. З метою досягнення поставлених завдань проаналізовано 29 нормативних документів acquis ЄС та Світової організації торгівлі, серед яких міжнародні договори, конвенції, директиви ЄС, регламенти та угоди у сфері транспорту і торгівлі. Аналіз цих джерел дозволив окреслити основні моделі термінотворення у сфері транспортного бізнесу, визначити структурні типи термінів (прості, складні, словосполучення) та простежити закономірності їх перекладу українською мовою. Проведений аналіз дозволяє зробити висновок, що термінологія транспортного бізнесу є відкритою, динамічною системою, яка постійно оновлюється у відповідь на технологічні зміни, цифровізацію транспортних процесів, впровадження міжнародних стандартів та розвиток логістичних технологій. Її переклад вимагає не лише знання мовних норм, але й розуміння предметної сфери, міжнародних нормативів і контексту використання термінаuk_UA
