The main topic of the article is V.Pidmohilny's novel "Misto". Finally, the author came to
a conclusion that Freud's discurs takes place in Ukrainian literature of the late 20-th of the
XX-th century.
Whatever contradictory could be Froud's intellectual contribution, it obviously stimulated
and in many ways determinated the far development of the human thought. The feminist
critique worked out its own view on the psychoanalytic conception. This article is another
attempt of V. Pidmohylny psychological prose interpretation. What a woman is? A silent
commodity? A crippled man? A phallus reproducer? Or maybe she is still the "dark continent"
waiting to be discovered.
