Abstract
Статтю присвячено опису форми вираження особливого мовного явища під назвою «еквівалент слова», показано характерні риси формальної організації цих одиниць на прикладі багатокомпонентних моделей із ланцюговим розгортанням структури, окреслено місце такого типу конструкцій у системі староукраїнської мови ХІV–XVII ст.
Description
The paper deals with the formal description of a special lingual phenomenon called “equivalent of a word.” One of the consequences of interaction of units that belong to different language levels is forming transitive phenomena that are placed on a language’s periphery but influenced on a language’s core and its structure. The equivalent of a word belongs to such a transitive phenomenon. Typically, the equivalent of a word is a combination of a notional part of speech and a structural one. These units belong to transitive ones because their functioning as adverbs causes their transition from prepositional structures to fixed combinations that can be considered as lexemes, and, if circumstances allow, further to fused lexemes. The equivalent of a word appears as a functional unit in a sentence because of its constant place. Then, the peculiarities of its formal structure influences on its inner structure. With the purpose of analysis, two general model types were created for these units. The first model type is called a basic one; the second model type is called a multi-component one. The basic models are the simplest ones that are represented by combinations of the unique initial component and one unfolding component. Multi-component models consist of at least three components. The models with a chain unfolding structure form the smallest group of units (36 units). They are represented by the three-component two-stepping models that are divided into subgroups depending on their part-of-speech characteristics. The equivalents of a word occur frequently in Old-Ukrainian texts. The analysis of their formal structure shows that these units have clear organization and syntactic function so they are an integral part of the Old- Ukrainian language system.
