Description
The article addresses problems arising in the organization of learning the course Basics of Law brought into the system of general education under the Programme of Legal Education of Population of Ukraine approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in May 1995. At present the democratization of social relations favours the raise of activity of an individual as a subject of tliese relations and therefore requires from an individual to thoroughly understand the processes running in the society, their essence, organizational and functional specificity and management in particular. It is all these that mal es the study of phenomena taking place in the state and law extremely topical.The authors analyze a number of problems hampering the fulfillment of tasks specified by the Programme. Among the problems mentioned they single out the following ones: 1) Inadequate notions of certain state and legal realities currently established in social consciousness and set out in text-books and manuals; 2) Lack of optimum model of the scope of knowledge; 3) Insufficient teaching personnel and poor material and methodical base to support educational process. The authors are prepared to share experience accumulated in the Ukrainian Humanitarian Lyceum under the Kyiv Shevchenko
National University where own programme has been designed and manual in Basics of Law written.
