dc.descriptionThis article examines the activities of Soviet state security agencies in the territory of Southern Bessarabia (since the annexation of the Kagul–Ismail–Bolgrad strip to the Ukrainian SSR), aimed at building a Soviet-style political system in the region, combating "anti-Soviet manifestations and anti-Soviet elements", and repressing various categories of citizens, including Orthodox clergy, based on archival documents and materials. The study focuses on the functioning of special groups staffed by officers from various departments of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, which carried out activities in the cities of Northern Bukovina and Bessarabia. Drawing on documents from Soviet intelligence agencies, the article depicts the sociopolitical and economic situation in the Akkerman and Izmail districts in the second half of 1940, reveals the peculiarities of the repatriation of Bessarabian Germans to Germany, and examines the reaction of the population of the Ukrainian SSR to the adoption by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the law "On the inclusion of the northern part of Bukovina and the Akkerman and Izmail districts of Bessarabia in the Ukrainian SSR". The topic was explored using both general scientific and special historical methods, such as chronological, comparative-historical, synchronous, diachronic (periodization), and statistical methods. Conclusions. During the military operation carried out by the Red Army to forcibly transfer Southern Bessarabia from Romania to the USSR, the former political system was destroyed and the process of establishing Soviet totalitarianism was initiated, which was accompanied by the unfolding of political repression within the region of Kagul–Izmail–Bolgrad. The repressive apparatus was based on operational and security groups that were created by the NKVD of the Ukrainian SSR. The use of the security institution (NKVD) facilitated the "cleansing" of the annexed territory, namely the arrests of former Romanian officials, representatives of socially alienated strata of the population, and activists of bourgeois-nationalist parties. The Sovietization of the region was accompanied by the deportation of unreliable elements and the struggle against religion and the church.en_US
dc.description.abstractУ статті на основі архівних документів та матеріалів розглядається діяльність радянських органів державної безпеки на території Південної Бессарабії (з моменту приєднання смуги Кагул-Ізмаїл-Болград до складу Української РСР), спрямована на побудову політичної системи радянського зразка в регіоні, боротьбу з "антирадянськими проявами та антирадянськими елементами", репресії різних категорій громадян, зокрема й православного духовенства. У дослідженні приділяється увага функціонуванню спеціальних груп, укомплектованих офіцерами з різних управлінь Наркомату внутрішніх справ СРСР, які розгорнули діяльність в містах Північної Буковини та Бессарабії. Опираючись на документи радянських спецслужб змальовано суспільно-політичну та економічну ситуацію в Аккерманському та Ізмаїльському повітах в другій половині 1940 року, розкрито репатріацію до Німеччини німців Бессарабії, розкрито реакцію населення Української РСР на прийняття Верховної Радою СРСР Закону "Про включення Північної частини Буковини і Хотинського, Аккерманського та Ізмаїльського повітів Бессарабії до складу УРСР". Для розкриття теми застосовувалися як загальнонаукові, так і спеціально-історичні методи: хронологічний, порівняльно-історичний, синхронний, діахронний (періодизації), статистичний. Висновки. У ході військової операції, проведеної Червоною армією з метою примусової передачі Румунією Південної Бессарабії до складу СРСР було знищено колишню політичну систему і розпочато процес утвердження радянського тоталітаризму, який супроводжувався розгортанням політичних репресій у межах смуги Кагул–Ізмаїл–Болград. Основу репресивного апарату склали оперативно-чекістські групи, які були створені НКВС УРСР. За допомогою силової інституції (НКВС) проведено "зачистку" приєднаної до СРСР території, а саме здійснено арешти колишніх румунських урядовців, представників соціально чужих прошарків населення, активістів буржуазно-націоналістичних партій. Радянізація регіону супроводжувалася виселенням неблагонадійного елементу та боротьбою з релігією та церквою.uk_UA
