Abstract
Мета — з’ясування перебігу, кількості й географії поширення польських патріотичних маніфестацій, персоналізація учасників із визначенням соціоетнічного походження, висвітлення їх ролі у підготовці Січневого повстання 1863 р. у Правобережній Україні, а також ставлення до маніфестацій української людності. Методологія базується на принципах науковості, історичної об’єктивності та системного аналізу зі зверненням до просопографічних підходів. Наукову новизну становлять визначення місця маніфестацій у майбутніх подіях, описання їх символіки, зокрема одягу, конкретизація вимог учасників до верховної влади, розкриття значення цих акцій для формування української національної ідентичності. Виявлено, що в маніфестаціях у Правобережній Україні взяло участь переважно польське етнічне населення краю на знак солідарності літичного й соціального становища в Російській імперії, а тому активно долучалися до публічного висловлювання власних прагнень. Висновки. Маніфестації у Правобережній Україні були мирною спробою відкрито показати верховній владі Росії незгоду з її регіональною політикою. З іншого боку, у формі релігійно-політичних демонстрацій виявлялася солідарність з учасниками виступів у Царстві Польському. Через використання універсальних символів, таких, як національний одяг, прикраси та патріотичні пісні, а також через обрання костелу публічним простором для висловлювання протесту виявлялося прагнення до відновлення польської держави. Маніфестації сприяли появі серед частини поляків нової ідейної течії — українофільства, що засвідчувало про формування української національної ідентичності та самоідентифікації, чим було започатковано більш значимий процес деколонізації Російської імперії.
Description
The purpose of the study is to clarify the course, number, and geography of spreading the Polish patriotic manifestations, personalization of the participants with the identification of their socio-ethnic origin, highlighting their role in the preparation of the January Uprising of 1863 in Right-Bank Ukraine, as well as their attitude to the manifestations of Ukrainian humanity. Th e research methodology is based on the principles of scientificness, historical objectivity, systematic analysis, and application of prosopographic approaches. The scientific novelty consists in determining the place of the manifestations in the events that followed, describing their symbolism, mainly clothing, specifying the participants’ demands to the supreme power, and revealing the significance of the manifestations for forming Ukrainian national identity. The study has revealed that mainly the Polish ethnic population of the region took part in the demonstrations in Right-Bank Ukraine as a sign of solidarity with the participants of similar anti-government protests in the Congress Poland. The Poles felt the vulnerability of their political and social position in the Russian Empire, and actively participated in public manifestations, expressing their aspirations and ambitions. Conclusions. The demonstrations in Right-Bank Ukraine were a peaceful attempt to openly show the supreme authorities of the Russian Empire their disagreement with its regional policy. On the other hand, by participating in the religious and political demonstrations, they manifested their solidarity with the participants of anti-government protest movements in the Congress Poland. Through the use of universal symbols, such as national clothing, jewelry, and patriotic songs, as well as via the choice of a church as a public space for expressing protest, the protesters made public their desire to restore the former Polish state. The demonstrations contributed to developing a new ideological trend among Poles called Ukrainophilism, which testified to the formation of Ukrainian national identity and self-identification. It started an even more important process — the decolonization of the Russian Empire.
