Abstract
У статті розглянуто прийменникові еквіваленти слова як крос-лінгвістичний феномен.
На прикладі еквівалентів слова польської та української мов, що належать до групи соціативної
семантики, представлено семантичний опис прийменникових одиниць, який відкриває можливості
для подальших контрастивних досліджень.
Description
This paper investigates structural aspects of sociative prepositional word equivalents in Polish and
Ukrainian. We have thereby seen that the their treatment and description in monolingual and bilingual
dictionaries is highly problematic. Based on lexicographic works, contrastive analysis is done in order to
compare the form of expression, the inner structure, and the functional-stylistic nature of the prepositional
word equivalents consisting of several components.
The subject of the work focused on such Polish prepositional word equivalents as razem z, wspόlnie z,
wespόł z, łącznie z, w parze z, do spółki z, we współpracy z, wsojuszu z, w towarzystwie and w asyście
(together with, in unity with, in cahoots with, in cooperation with, in alliance with, in company with).
Referring to the research procedures proposed in the Ukrainian linguistic literature, the attempt was
made to define the lexical and grammar status of the entries in question. We then used semantic description
based on modelling the plan of expression of the studied units.
We suggest that the analysed sociative Polish prepositional word combinations razem z, wspόlnie z,
wespόł z, łącznie z have the same compositional structure as their Ukrainian equivalents разом з (зі, із)
and спільно з (зі, із). However, we observe differences between the structural elements, the lexical
components, and the grammar markers of Polish prepositional units do spółki z, w towarzystwie, w asyście
and Ukrainian lexical entries of sociative semantics у спілці з (зі, із), у супроводі.
This approach has the following advantage: the dictionary user can easily find the preposition in the list
of entries, and there is no need to search for the preposition within the often lengthy and complicated entry
for the abstract noun or adverb. It is obvious that the entries under the study should be labelled as
prepositional word equivalents.
