Abstract:
Робота присвячена проблемі обґрунтування принципу верховенства права на початку
формування сучасних правових доктрин у Західній і Східній Європі. Припускається, що основним
чинником, який зумовлює різне розуміння цього принципу на Сході та Заході, стали відмінності
у релігійних доктринах католицизму та православ 'я, які активно стали відокремлюватись одна
від одної в XI cm.

The article is devoted to the problem of the substantion of the principle of rule of law at the beginning
of formation of modern legal doctrines in Eastern and Western Europe.
It is supposed that the main reason for various interpretations of this principle in East and West are
religious difference of Catholicism and the Orthodox church which started to split in the 11th century.
