Abstract
The article is devoted to analysis of application the statistical potential of credit bureaus. Credit bureaus became an inherent part of modern credit market, especially at the
segment of consumer lending. At the same time, possibilities of bureau`s statistics are not
used effectively. The article suggests approaches to increasing effectiveness of risk management in consumer lending segment based on the study of data amassed by credit bureaus. In particular, the analysis of rejected applications, the analysis of statistical distribution of scoring inflows and bureau benchmarking are considered. The reject analysis gives
the possibilities to improve rules for discrimination good and bad borrowers. The statistical
analysis of market inflow is a good indicator for understanding risk environment. Bureau
benchmarking which based on market statistics provides good comparison for understanding effectiveness separate creditors.
