Abstract:
The article deals with the main phases of the development of the Ottoman-Turkish Paleography. This
is accounted for by the needs to study the Grammar of the Ottoman language, in particular its phonetic
features and different spelling systems. There are also considered special points of the grammar of the
above writing system that arose under the influence of the Persian and Arabic Languages.
The article is added by an example of a 17th-century “Divani" writing which achieved its perfection
in the 18th century. By using this archives document as an example, there has been convincingly
demonstrated the special style of writing diplomatic letters at those times.
