У статті на основі письмових та археологічних джерел висвітлюється початковий етап заселення
східними слов'янами Нижнього Подунав'я та Волконського півострова.
According to Prokopij, Jordan, Joahn of Efes, Feofilakt Simokatta, and other early medeieval authors, the
beginging of mass settlement of Lower Dunaj and the Baltic peninsula by eastern slovians took place at the third
quater of the I mill. AC. At the same time the new archaeologic culture Iponesht-Kindesht-Churel appears on the
left bank of the Lower Dunaj, in which the monuments of Praga-Korchak and Penkivka tipes are dominant. On the
right bank of the Lower Dunaj slovian monuments spread which are well-known from the excavations of settlements
like Djedjovi Lozia and burial grounds from Harvana, Bobovo, and Jupera. When Bulgarians, headed by Khan
Asparukh, appeared in Balcans, they have found slovians there, with whom they created Dunaj Bulgaria in 680.
