Abstract
The article briefly describes archaeological sites near Serhiivka village of Bereznehuvatskyi region in Mykolaiv oblast. These 14 settlements were discovered by Anatolii Oleksiyovych Sikorsky, a teacher of Serhiivka eight-year school. Most of them are settlements of Sabatinovka culture of the Bronze age period. These sites were being researched for twenty years (the 1960s-980s years). They are described on the basis of the materials from the researcher’s field diaries. These are some of archaeological sites which were discovered by A. O. Sikorsky as a result of primary archaeological investigation of the Vysun river basin (the right tributary of the Ingulets river). In general, the researcher recorded 64 settlements and 137 burial mounds (separate and in burial groups), and plenty of archaeological finds that are not connected to articular sites. These materials are the base of the archaeological map of the region. The largest number of investigated settlements are located in Kazankivskyi and Bereznehuvatskyi regions in Mykolaiv oblast. The current publication contains information about such archaeological sites: Babyna Balka I, Babyna Balka II, Krasnyi Kamin, Poselennya № 33, Serhiivka, Serhiivka I, Serhiivka II, Serhiivka III, Serhiivka IV, Serhiivka V, Serhiivka VI, Serhiivka VII, Schyroka Balka. A part of collected materials by A. O. Sikorsky is saved in funds of Mykolaiv local history museum. All these findings indicate the effectiveness of systematic research works in particular microregions. Archaeological surveys should be the main form of archaeological field work. They facilitate to the scientific research as well as protection of archaeological heritage.
