Abstract
У статті розкривається образ музики в романі Г. Гессе "Гра в бісер". З’ясовуються питання: що послужило акустичним прототипом "касталійської музики"; у чому естетична суть касталійської "гри в бісер" і який її зв’язок з естетикою енського романтизму; у чому полягає "ізоморфність" касталійського способу життя, звучання касталійської музики та специфічного тону розповіді прожиття головного персонажа; які історичні події лежать в основі політико-релігійно-естетичної утопії в романі. Гессе робить драматичну проекцію в майбутнє й розкриває драматичні вади "модерністичного проекту" німецьких романтиків на межі XVIII - XIX ст. Ця утопія передбачала створення засобами мистецтва та вільного філософування нової інтелектуальної раси в Європі, що мала втілити ідеал духовної повноти існування людини, як її задумала природа. Романтики вірили, що "проект" покладе початок "тисячолітнього рейху" краси, віри і права (Новаліс).
The article reveals the image of the music in the novel "The Glass Bead Game". The author analyzed several questions: what was the acoustical prototype of the music of Kastalia; what was the aesthetic essence of the "glass bead game"; was there a connection with the aesthetics of the Jena romantics; what was the "isomorphy" of the lifestyle in Kastalia, of the music of Kastalia and a specific tone of the narration about the life of the main character; what historical events underlay the political-religious-aesthetic utopia in the novel. Hesse makes the projection into the future and reveals the dramatic flaws of the "modernistic project" of German Romantics at the turn of the 18th - 19th centuries. By means of art and free philosophical thinking they intended creating a new intellectual race in Europe, which had to embody the ideal of spiritually full human existence in correspondence with nature’s plan, but lost all high benefits in the course of bourgeois evolution. The Romantics believed that "the project" will begin the thousand-year "Reich" of beauty, faith and law (Novalis).
