Abstract
Домінування пасивних конструкцій над активними є однією з визначальних рис офіційно-
ділового стилю сучасної української мови, зокрема її адміністративно-канцелярського підстилю.
Аналіз навчальних посібників та довідкової літератури з офіційно-ділового мовлення кінця ХХ -
початку ХХІ ст. засвідчує трансформовану парадигму пасиву: ядро формують конструкції
з дієсловами на -ся, периферію - конструкції з предикативними формами на -но, -то та
дієприкметниками на -ний, -тий.
Description
As Ukraine became independent, the linguists began to renovate the national identity at all language
levels, including the syntactic one, which was considered to be supranational. But nowadays the situation
has not changed dramatically: the passive constructions in the official business style are not only widely
used but also dominate over active ones. The analysis of tutorials and reference literature in official and
business language published at the end of the twentieth – beginning of the twenty-first centuries argues the
fact of the passive paradigm transformation: the core is shaped by verbs constructions with -ся, periphery -
by predicative forms with -но, -то endings and passive participles with -ний, -тий. The essential advantage
of verb constructions with -ся over other types of passive constructions indicating their movement from the
last periphery to the passive paradigm center is due to the history of the development of the official business
style. It mainly depends on personal preferences of publishers of specialized official business style editions.
Their language characteristics are generated as the result of the insufficient level of mastering the standards
of speech. The choice of passive constructions with predicative forms with -но, -то and participles with
-ний, -тий is also mainly intuitive, because it happens quite often that both types of passive constructions
are simultaneously used in modern samples of documents, and sometimes in one and the same document.
The solution to the disputable problem of the passive constructions status in the system of the Ukrainian
language can contribute to the restoration of the national individuality of the Ukrainian language, i.e.,
maintenance of the national traditions to use the natural syntactic constructions.
