To describe the field of contemporary Ukrainian philosophy, the authors use the toolkit offered by P. Bourdieu's field theory and developed in works on the sociology of French philosophy by his students and followers, in particular, by L. Pinto and J.-L. Fabiani. As in these authors' works, the authors look at the contemporary Ukrainian philosophy from a disciplinary perspective, which allows analyzing features and problems of (re)institutionalization of philosophy in the system of higher education. The authors see the beginning of the field of contemporary Ukrainian philosophy’s genesis in the formation of a professional philosophers corps yet in the USSR, and the further process of its constitution, which, in their opinion, stems from the decentralization of the field of Soviet philosophy. The authors analyze issues of the field of contemporary Ukrainian philosophy in terms of a national field of philosophy with its specific institutions of recognition (or consecration) and peculiar forms of its interaction with the publishing and media market.У статті здійснено опис філософії в Україні доби незалежності не у вигляді окремих досягнень окремих філософів, а як поля філософії, у якому формується уявлення про філософську гідність окремих текстів та філософію взагалі. Для опису поля сучасної української філософії автори використовують інструменти теорії поля П. Бурдьє, розвинутої в роботах з соціології французької філософії його учнями та послідовниками, зокрема Л. Пенто та Ж.-Л. Фабьяні. Як і у цих авторів, сучасну українську філософію у статті розглянуто в дисциплінарній перспективі, що дало змогу проаналізувати особливості й проблеми (ре)інституювання філософії в системі вищої освіти. Автори вбачають початок ґенези поля сучасної української філософії у формуванні корпусу професійних філософів в СРСР, а подальший процес його конституювання, на їхню думку, відбувається через децентралізацію поля радянської філософії, у перебігу якої зберігається вироблене в радянські часи розуміння філософії та філософської діяльності.
