These inflections are recommended in both The Orthography of 1928 and papers on Ukrainian grammar of the first decades of the 20th century. The reason of semantically different inflections -ові, -еві/-єві, -у/-ю to have acquired a lingual status of equality is well-known – the pressure of the Russian language. The change of monosemantic inflection -ові, -еві/-єві into -у/-ю in the dative case of a singular masculine noun causes hyponyms in dative of: – nominative (рекомендація професора); – genitive case (довіра народу); – vocative (зятю, Петровичу).
