Yakushik, Director of the UKMA Centre for Social and Political Research, and P. I. Grytsyak, a UKMA second-year student, proposes a systematisation of the existing types of inter- State formations. The authors classify those formations either as associations of States, or as special instruments of inter-State cooperation. Definitions of the main types of inter-State formations are proposed, and specific examples from Ukrainian and international experience are given.
