Analyzed works of Ukrainian and foreign researchers dedicated to the issues of LIS education and Information Science connection to the librarianship helps to observe better the structure of LIS education in the USA. The current tendencies of LIS education in the USA had been extracted in terms of this research which helped to regard closely the structure and content of the system of higher LIS education in the USA.
