Among all fifteen Soviet republics, Soviet Ukraine had one of the most advanced industrial potential. In order to support this economic might the Soviet Ukraine generously funded the HE and research in order to train high quality academic and research cadre, which contributed significantly to the Soviet advances in space industry, nuclear energy, machinery, physics and many other areas.
