Except exclusively archaeological tasks (study of Paleolithic and Kyiv Rus monuments), the expedition dealt with ethnological problems of time of origin and continuous cultural and historical development of settlements in Ovruch region. It turned out that the duration of continuous development of many settler structures of the region exceeded one thousand years. It gives grounds for extending ethnogenetic roots of the modern Ukrainian population of the region to the days of Kyiv Rus.
