dc.description	The article is dedicated to the activity of interest groups in politics. The rise, the structure, the typology and the peculiarities offunctioning of such groups in different countries have been explored, based on the example of the United States of America and Ukraine. The reasons for such formations, as well as their methods of influence on the government and legal foundations of their activity have also been analyzed. However, the principal attention has been focused on the efficiency of representation of public interests by interest groups.	en
