У статті йдеться про структуро-семантичні особливості в термінологічній лексиці народної ботаніки. Ботанічна лексика, що належить до найбагатших тематичних груп будь-якої мови, становить значний інтерес для науки як з огляду на її велику кількість, давність її походження, різноманітність шляхів формування, специфічне місце у системі національної мови. Актуальність роботи визначається браком порівнянь англійських та українських етноботанічних номенів, та способи творення та мотивацію їх творення.
The article deals with the structural and semantic peculiarities in the terminological vocabulary of folk botany. Botanical vocabulary, which belongs to the richest thematic groups of any language, is of considerable interest to science, given its large number, antiquity of its origin, the variety of ways of formation, a specific place in the national language system. The relevance of the such research is determined by the lack of comparisons of English and Ukrainian ethnobotanical nomens, and methods of creation.
