У статті досліджено мовну одиницю бити, що є багатозначним утворенням у
сучасній українській літературній мові, та її зв’язок із найдавнішим відповідником –
праслов’янським *biti. Співвідношення форми і змісту давньої та сучасної мовних одиниць
забезпечують індоєвропейські структури як породжувальний процес у розвитку сучасного
бити.
The article is researched the linguistic unit of бити which belongs to the ancient meaningful
formations in the modern Ukrainian literary language and the oldest lexical equivalent of which
is the Proto-Slavic *biti. The relationship between the structures of form and content of the
Ukrainian and Proto-Slavic language units provides the generative process.
