До питання про конфесійну приналежність Франциска Скорини

Abstract

У статті пропонується аналіз різних версій розв'язання питання конфесійної приналежності Ф. Скорини. Критично висвітлюються аргументи на підтвердження православ'я, протестантизму і католицизму полочанського першодрукаря. Підсумовується про його формальну належність до католицизму. Проте компромісне сприйняття Ф. Скориною тодішніх віросповідань робить неважливим розв'язання питання його конфесійної ідентифікації.

The article proposes an analysis of the various versions of the F. Skoryna's solution of the question of confessional affiliation. Critical arguments in favour of Orthodoxy, Protestantism and Catholicism of the Polotsk printer of the first book are highlighted. Special attention is paid to the versions, the authors of which on orthodoxy F. Skoryna are insisted. In particular, thoroughly A. Viktorov's, P. Vladimirov's and V. Deruga's arguments are verseded. The weaknesses of their arguments are indicated. Also offered an analysis of the Skoryna's edition of the Psalter for its conformity with Orthodox religion. In addition, the George's name (supposedly the second Skoryna's orthodox name) is considered. On this occasion the H. Łowmiański's and G. Golenchenko's criticisms attesting to the elementary error of the copyist are presented. Also versions in favor of F. Scoryna's Protestant religion (B. Kopitar, D. Chizhevskyj) and facts of their distribution Ortodoxy defenders in the environment (prince Andrei Kurbsky, metropolitan Anthony Selyava) are considered. Also versions of the Catholic religion of F. Skoryna are considered. In particular, arguments H. Łowmiański's and J. Dobrovsky are verseded thoroughly. Also other arguments in favor of F. Scoryna's Catholic religion are considered. Skoryna's formal affiliation to Catholicism is concluted. However, F. Skoryna's compromise perception of then faiths is not important for his confessional identity. The more that you need to consider the uniqueness of confessional situation in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. We are talking about the absence of any religious system domination in the State. In other words, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania is an example of historical and cultural comfort, in which there was not black and white perception of different denominations.
