Мовні аспекти концептуалізації збройного конфлікту на сході України (2014-2018) в австралійському медійному дискурсі

Abstract

Статтю присвячено розгляду особливостей мовної концептуалізації збройного конфлікту на сході України (2014-2018) в австралійському медійному дискурсі. Матеріалом дослідження стали інтернет-статті сайтів австралійської національної щоденної газети “The Australian” та новинного сайту “News.com.au”. Аналіз особливостей мовної концептуалізації подій на сході України (2014-2018) в дискурсі провідних австралійських медійних компаній свідчить, що мовна картина збройного конфлікту, яка створюється австралійськими медіа, має суперечливий характер. З одного боку, використання таких лексичних одиниць як rebellion та the separatist uprising створює картину внутрішнього конфлікту. З іншого боку, експліцитні твердження про пряму участь у збройному конфлікті іншої держави через такі лексичні одиниці як aggression against Ukraine та Russian occupation заперечують можливість визнання конфлікту на сході України як внутрішнього згідно визначення поняття civil war, яке сформулювала Рада Безпеки Організації Обʼєднаних Націй. У статті відзначається, що суперечлива мовна картина війни на сході України також створюється медіа інших країн, та, як приклад, наводиться аналіз дискурсу американської провідної медійної компанії CNN.

The paper examines the language peculiarities of conceptualization of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine (2014-2018) in Australian media discourse. The internet-articles of the newspaper “The Australian” and news website “News.com.au’ were analyzed. The analysis of the peculiarities of the conceptualization in the English language of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in the discourse of leading Australian media shows that the Australian media create the information space which has the contradictory character. On the one side, the usage of such lexical units as rebellion and the separatist uprising creates the picture of the internal conflict. On the other side, the explicit statements on the direct participation in the armed conflict of another state (aggression against Ukraine and Russian occupation) rejects the possibility to define the conflict as an internal one according to the definition of the notion civil war formulated by the United Nations Security Council. It is also noted that the contradictory character of the language picture of the war in eastern Ukraine is created by other world media. The analysis of the media discourse of the leading American media company CNN was provided as an example. The analysis of the peculiarities of conceptualization in the English language of armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in the discourse of the leading American media company CNN and the Australian media shows that they create the information spaces which match in key concepts and have the contradictory character.
